History:
Albert was born in Dublin, Ireland to Scottish parents. To say he was a ScotIrish bastard was true, without the the literal meaning of bastard. As a baby he lived a 'normal' life and right before he started going to school they moved to Edinburgh, Scotland.
He went through normal schooling, nothing very interesting happening, until he turned 16. Then some crazy things started happening to him. He started seeing things others didn't or rather, he'd see things in different ways than other people. When he confronted his parents about it all they stammered and were reluctant to share information.
That stayed the cycle for awhile, asking and not getting any result, until his 17th birthday. At his party the lights went out but not just like a power failure or a simple surge that would go away in a little bit of time. There was something wrong with the darkness. It seemed to move and squirm with either life or death. He approached the darkest corner of the house and before his Quincy parents could do anything a massive Hollow reached out with an over-sized hand and lashed out at him, clawing across his eyes and tossing him aside in one deft motion. He crashed against the wall and blacked out for a moment and troubling visions of blindness haunted him. When he came back to, he heard strange sounds and cries of Pain from the Hollow as his parents drove it away.
It wasn't until he felt his eyes open but darkness still pressed upon him that he realized that he was now blind.
His parents tried what they thought would work but the blindness invoked by the Hollow wasn't only from the wound. It had somehow stolen his site utterly so even though the wound was gone, his eyes were still silvery and useless. This was where he began wearing a blindfold to keep people from freaking out. Normally, sunglasses would be worn, but he found them too prone to fall off with his training.
Oh yes, since the Hollow incident (and the Hollow was still alive), Albert's parents saw no use in trying to keep things hidden from him. Despite his blindness, his parents were convinced that he could still be trained to use his powers.
They sent him to Germany to learn from the oldest masters of the Quincy arts, and there, Marc Ammer taught him how to see using the energy that all Quincies could manipulate.
The collective group taught him the basics of Quincy power, including the classic bow. However, Albert thought that the mid-to-long-range bow was a weakness, so he insisted that he learned how to conjure a sword as well.
Eventually, it seemed that the Germans had taught him all he needed to know, so he took his leave and went back to Scotland to meet up with his family. They greeted him with open arms but he took his leave from them to seek out the Hollow that took his sight in hopes that it may restore his sight.
Right now, he roams Scotland, Ireland, and England hoping that he can draw out the Hollow.
